Mothers, sons, daughters and friends can nominate a dad by visiting The Shirt Box’s Facebook page, clicking on the nomination tab (Nominate Dad), completing a short nomination form and uploading a “before” photo of Dad at https://www.Facebook.com/TheShirtBoxStyle/ or by directly visiting https://woobox.com/ftvgik.

Nominations will be accepted through Friday, May 13, 2016, and must include a brief explanation of why Dad deserves to be nominated. Dads will also need to be available for a photo shoot during the week of May 15. Contact information for both the nominator and nominee should be provided. Complete nomination guidelines can be found by visiting The Shirt Box’s Facebook page.

From those nominated, two “Dapper Dads” will be selected and announced in mid-May to receive a clothing makeover. They will get fashion guidance from The Shirt Box team of style consultants and a new outfit each. Dapper Dads will have the opportunity to be featured in a “before” and “after” feature in an upcoming issue of The Detroit Jewish News.

“We wanted to show Dads how much they are appreciated,” said Ron Elkus, co-owner of The Shirt Box. “Often, they are busy placing their families first, they don’t spend time on themselves. We thought this would be a special way to show Dads how much they are appreciated and recognize some of the outstanding fathers we have in our community.”

Please note: on mobile devices the “Nominate Dad” tab may be accessed via a link in Facebook page posts.
