On Saturday, May 6, NEXTGen Detroit’s Interfaith Couples affinity group hosted a Havdalah ceremony at The Stand in Birmingham. Participants gathered to mark the end of Shabbat with delicious hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a meditative and musical program led by Interfaith Couples co-chair Keith Schonberger.

“This was a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Jewish practice and tradition in a welcoming, low-pressure, small-group environment, where people were free to let their guard down, ask questions and enjoy the company of other local interfaith couples,” Schonberger said.

Formed in 2016, NEXTGen Detroit’s Interfaith Couples hosts events geared toward embracing and serving the needs of interfaith couples who want to learn about and become more connected to Judaism and the Metro Detroit Jewish community.
