On May 9, a crowd of 400 people gathered at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center in Detroit to be entertained by Chicago Dance Crash who hosted an audience-voted, emceed dance battle — the first of its kind to come to Metro Detroit. Battle Hunger is the annual fundraiser of Yad Ezra, the Berkley-based kosher food pantry.
Attendees also could bid on 14 high-end raffle items donated from local vendors, have their photos taken courtesy of Rimma Aronov in a photo booth provided by Star Trax Event Productions and mingle while enjoying supper catered by Dish Kosher Catering.
Co-chairs for the evening were Nancy Kleinfeldt, Michael Gendelman and Ari Dolgin.
Yad Ezra’s annual spring event has become an annual “friendraiser” for the food pantry that serves 3,000 food-insecure individuals on a monthly basis. This year’s event raised $72,376.
