Shoes to Share
Shoes to Share is a program organized by the National Council of Jewish Women | Michigan where new or gently used shoes are collected at donation points throughout Metro Detroit in October, then sorted by volunteers in November. NCJW|MI works with 22 local agencies that help kids, homeless families and veterans. Last year 3,000 pairs of shoes were collected; NCJW|MI believes donations are up this year. Volunteers pictured here are Marion Freedman of West Bloomfield, Fran Grossman of Franklin, Sandy Weiss of Huntington Woods, Lori Issner of West Bloomfield, Ellie Slovis of Bloomfield Hills, Jeannie Weiner of West Bloomfield and Edie Resnick (seated) of Bloomfield Hills.
