A New Hot Breakfast is Hitting Capitol Park
From the JN Staff
Restaurateur Eli Boyer and Chefs Jennifer Jackson and Justin Tootla are excited to announce their third project, Iggy’s Eggies, in Detroit’s Capitol Park. Iggy’s Eggies is a hot breakfast walk-up window on the Grand River side of Lovers Only, serving breakfast essentials and Roos Roast coffee on weekday mornings.
It will be open Monday-Friday at 8 a.m., serving hot breakfast sandwiches and sweet and savory grain bowls. Ingredients like eggs and breakfast meats are being sourced from Michigan farmers and purveyors, while other items — like Jenn’s biscuits — will be made in-house.
Online ordering and a catering program will be launched shortly after opening.
“We’re energized to bring this little idea to life as it’ll serve the Downtown market nicely. The walk-up window was going to be used as an extension of Lovers Only, but we realized that a quick, easy, delicious hot breakfast was something the area was missing. Jenn and Justin have put together an incredible line-up of breakfast sandwiches that will cater to a wide variety of tastes, from healthy to gluttonous and straightforward to whimsical. We’re really looking forward to serving our community every morning,” Boyer said.
