If you’ll be heading to Downtown Detroit during the holiday season, you’ll be happy to know the QLINE will provide complimentary rides from December 15- January 1, 2019.
“It’s our way of encouraging residents and visitors to experience all the Woodward Corridor has to offer this time of year, from its Downtown Detroit Markets and special events to all the great restaurants and retail that make this city an exciting destination. From the Rainbow City Roller Rink at 1001 Woodward to the shops at the Fisher Building, everyone should take time to explore Detroit,” said M-1 RAIL CEO Matt Cullen.
The “QLINE Happy Holidays” ride promotion was made possible by generous gifts from three of the streetcars founding contributors, the Kresge Foundation, Quicken Loans Family of Companies, and Penske Corp.
“This holiday season, the Woodward Corridor is alive with retail activity and cultural expression. The QLINE has helped create this vibrancy, and there is no better way to experience it than hopping aboard,” says Rip Rapson, president of The Kresge Foundation. “We’re supporting QLINE Happy Holidays to say ‘thanks’ to our regular users, and to say ‘welcome’ to those who have yet to discover this state-of-the-art streetcar and Woodward Corridor transformation.”
The “QLINE Happy Holidays” promotion will run during all service hours beginning at 8 a.m on Saturday, December 15 and ending at midnight on January 1, 2019. Streetcars typically arrive every 10-12 minutes during peak service and 15-20 minutes during off-peak hours. QLINE ambassadors will be on-board to assist riders throughout the holiday promotion. Regular fare service will return on January 2, 2019. Tickets can be purchased at https://qlinedetroit.com/tickets/.
