Colleagues, constituents, family and friends will gather June 12 at Wayne State University.

The family of the late Sen. Carl Levin and the Levin Center for Oversight and Democracy at Wayne State University Law School will honor the life and legacy of Michigan’s longest-serving U.S. senator with a memorial at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at Wayne State University’s Student Center Ballroom, 5221 Gullen Mall, Detroit.

Levin, who left the Senate in 2015 after serving six terms and 36 years, died July 29, 2021. He was 87 years old.

Sen. Levin, first elected to the Senate in 1978, became his state’s longest-serving senator. From 2001 until his retirement in 2015, Sen. Levin served as the chairman or the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
