A View From the Amster Center

06/07/2021 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

BlackRock chief executive Laurence Fink in 2018 noted that people were increasingly “turning to the private sector and asking that companies respond to broader societal challenges” and demanding that organizations “serve a social purpose.”

At this meeting, we will learn how The Amster Center was created and is poised to help address social problems and improve lives.

Our guest speaker, David Peter Stroh, in his book Systems Thinking for Social Change, suggests that those working to bring about social change should ask, “Why have we not been able to solve the complex social problems that plague us in spite of our best intentions and efforts?”

The Amster Center was created and designed to question, unravel, and perform against unhelpful conventional modes of thinking that perpetuate chronic social problems.
