1-4 pm, June 30. Kelly Church, a maker of contemporary and traditional Anishnabe black ash baskets, and her husband, Jeff, will demonstrate how a basket is made — from pounding the log to weaving. They’ll also discuss the devastation of the emerald ash borer and its impact on the black ash trees. Presented in cooperation with the Southfield Historical Society and the Pokagon band of Potawatomi tribe. On front lawn of Southfield Public Library, 26300 Evergreen.
